How to join the club
Want to get involved & join Leeds University Union Hiking Club? AWESOME! Here's what you need to do:
Head over to the Hiking Page on the Union Website & from there you can either make a guest account, or if you're a student at the University of Leeds, you can log in using your ISS details.
Click 'join this group', pay the membership fee: £22 for the year (£15 for Semester 1 or Semester 2 membership) & hey presto! You will officially be a member of Leeds University Union Hiking Club (Best decision you will ever make).
Sign up for hikes
You will be notified of the week's upcoming hikes and events on Sunday or Monday evenings by our secretary via email, and via our weekly news Facebook post.
Sign up for trips and events takes place online. For Sunday trips, tickets are usually released 1 week in advance (from 8pm on Monday evenings). For Weekend and Winter trips, tickets are usually released 2 weeks in advance (from 8pm on Tuesday evenings). For Winter trips there will be an option to come for 2 days or for 3 days – please make sure you select the right option.
** Please refer to the Calendar page for exact release times, dates and costs of tickets for each trip, as there are exceptions!**
There’ll be quite a few options in the shop menu on the union website, so please be careful to select the right trip / product to add to basket. After doing so, there will be a few questions that you'll need to answer, via drop down menus before you pay. Please pay particular attention to them, but don't be too slow, as you're place will not be reserved until you've paid.
You can buy tickets here on the Leeds University Union website Hiking 'Shop' page at www.luu.org.uk/groups/hiking.
Tickets will be available for 24 hours after their release time, but please note that tickets are sold on a first come, first serve basis, so if you are unable to buy a ticket within the 24 hours, and see the notice ‘purchasing limit reached’ on the union website, they are probably sold out.
If you don't manage to get a ticket, do not despair! You can email the secretary who can put you on the reserve list and get in touch with you should anyone drop out.
