Hiking Weekly News 23rd November 2015

A very good evening Hikers…
I hope those who went to the Lakes this weekend had a splendid time and you have all now thawed out. I was thinking of you all out on the hill whilst I sat by the fire preparing for an assessment centre!

If you have ordered a club buff and haven’t paid yet, now is the time to log onto the union website, go onto the club page and select the shop tab. Buffs are in the shop section for the fantastic price of £8.50.

***Club Fleeces***
Esther has so very kindly posted information about club fleeces on our Facebook page. If you would like one, they are on the Hiking page of the Union website in the shop section. Once you have added a fleece to your basket, you can select your size and most importantly the colour. They are really good quality and they let the world know you are part of the best club in the world!

***Christmas Meal *** Friday 27th November 2015 7pm-late
(Singing from the rooftops...) “Joy to the World! The Christmas meal has come!!!” It’s the most wonderful time of the year and the Christmas meal is the perfect way to spread the hiking Christmas cheer! Jenny I hope you have chosen which Merrell ball gown to wear?! For those coming to the ball, don’t forget your secret Santa gift, this needs to be a small gift up to the value of £5. It might be something useful, funny or down right outrageous. Once we have stuffed our gut and warmed up the hips, we will head out into Leeds to a venue Jordan and Dave have organised for us. I believe they have some treats in store for us!

---Christmas Meal Awards---
As per, we will be having our annual Christmas meal awards ceremony. However due to technical difficulties, this year we will be hosting the ceremony before the meal at the Maurice Keyworth lecture theatre at the business school. This will be an awesome start to the night, we can have a few drinks and see who wins some of the most coveted awards in the land. We will then head down to Park Plaza in Taxis at 7pm. Make sure you send your nominations to Dave and Jordan: social@luuhc.com before Friday.

***Wednesday Social*** – 25th November, 8:30pm onwards at the Library Pub
Goodness know what the weather will bring on Wednesday, but I know I will brave anything for a pint and a burger and I’m sure many of you would do the same…
