HIKING WEEKLY NEWS

A very good evening Hikers…

For those who braved the weather yesterday in Derbyshire I hope you all had a fantastic time exploring the wonders of Chatsworth and the Peak District. I was gutted I wasn't able to be there… Once again we have a busy week coming up so sit back and get the diary/Ipad/notebook out!

***Christmas Meal Menu and Tickets***
Christmas meal tickets are still on sale until THIS FRIDAY.The menu for the Christmas meal has now been released. If you have bought tickets you need to join the Christmas meal event on Facebook (Via the hiking group) and select a meal choice. If you don’t have access to Facebook then have a word with either of our Social Secs Dave and Jordan, myself or Jenny.

***Coming up this week***
***Wednesday Social*** – 11th November, 8:30pm onwards at the Library Pub
As per, we will be at The Library Pub this Wednesday, do come and join us for a drink, a delicious burger and a chit chat.

***Navigation skills session*** Wednesday 11th November 7-8:30pm Parkinson SR (4.20)

The aim of this evening is to provide a basic introduction into navigation. The event is open to all, but aimed primarily at beginners or those who want to relearn the basics of map reading and compass usage. With a great introduction into navigation under your belt, you'll be well set up to start putting theory into practice on club hikes! There is an event page for this on the hiking club Facebook group for more details.

***Nintendo 64 evening*** Sunday 15th November 8:30pm onwards, Room 6 upstairs in the Union

Jordan and Dave own a legendary Nintendo 64 console that they have managed to rescue from the mid-1990s and will be combining it with 21st Century technology (large screen and projector). We will be having a Mario-Cart multi-player championship and there are some seriously awesome prizes to be won! There is a Facebook event for this with all the details and serious banter on the Hiking Facebook group so please click 'Attending' on that.
