Weekly eNews - 18th January

Hello lovely hikers! :-)

Welcome back! I hope everyone’s had a really great Christmas :-) here’s what’s coming up in the next few weeks.

***Kingsdale Sunday hike***

-          9am, Sunday 25th January, Parkinson steps

Semester two starts with a hike in the Yorkshire Dales. Ingleton is famous for its waterfalls (7 within a 5km radius!) and is at the base of Ingleborough, Gragareth and Great Coum. These peaks surround Kingsdale, one of the quieter, smaller dales. The price of this trip will be £10 and sign up will take place as usual in room 3 (upstairs in the Union) at 1.30pm on Wednesday.

***Wednesday social***

For those of you wanting a break/excuse to procrastinate from your exam prep - meet at 8.30pm this Wednesday in the Library pub. People will be heading to Fab Café afterwards! This is open to anyone so even if you’ve never done anything with the Club before you’re welcome to come along and being anyone else who’s interested :-)

***Refreshers fair***

On Tuesday 27th January from 1-4pm we will have a stall at the refreshers fair in Riley Smith Hall so come along if you have any questions or interest in the Club :-)

***GIAG to Malham!***

-          8.30am, Sunday 1st February, Parkinson steps

Our give it a go this semester is a chance for non-members to try the Hiking Club without needing membership. Malham is in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The area is noted for Malham Cove, Gordale Scar, Janet's Foss and Malham Tarn. It’s the ideal place to go hiking for both beginners and the experienced. Tickets can already be purchased from the Union website.

Don’t forget to check out the website for more info on upcoming Club trips and socials and also for important information on gear and kit requirements!

Thanks everyone, have a great week and I hope exams go okay for those who have them!
