Weekly eNews - 7th December

Hello lovely hikers! :-)

What a great week :-) Bierkeller on Wednesday was so much fun and Friday was without doubt my favourite ever Christmas meal. I hope everyone had a lovely hike today in Flamborough :-)

***Ice climbing info***

On the 2nd and 9th of December we'll be heading to Ellis Brigham's Vertical Chill in Manchester. It has been described as a giant industrial freezer! All equipment boots, crampons, axes, helmets etc. is provided, with someone to instruct/belay you! It doesn't matter if you've never even been in a harness before, anyone can have a go under full supervision. Normally its £50 a pop but they are very kindly offering it to us for only £10 pp, which will be donated to the Climbers Against Cancer charity. We will let you know via Facebook about train times etc. :-)

***Haworth sign up***

8.30am, Sunday 7th December, Parkinson steps

The penultimate Sunday hike of the year is upon us! ‘Haworth is famously known as Bronte country. The moorland is famous for its windswept crags, long-ranging views and wooded valleys. Very close to Leeds, it’s a perfect location for a hike in Yorkshire.’ Sign up is 1.30pm in room 3 of the Union this Wednesday. The cost is £10.

***Wednesday social***

As usual we will be in the Library pub from 8.30pm onwards. Everyone is welcome, bring friends, housemates, course friends, anyone :-) see you there!

***Winter briefing and international trip presentation***

-         7pm, Wednesday 10th December, Business School Maurice Keyworth LT (G.02)

Just another reminder to come along to this meeting if you are interested in joining us on either of the Winter Trips to Scotland! It is mandatory that you to attend the briefing if you want to come on the trips. We will also be giving you all the info about the international trip at the end of this meeting :-)

Lastly something to whet your appetite for winter…
