HIKING WEKLY NEWS - 7th March 2016

Good Afternoon Hikers!

Well I cannot believe that we are coming to the end of the Broomby administration, remember if you would like to run for next year’s committee, there is a nomination sheet at the activities desk upstairs in the union. Note you need two people to sign as nominators too!

***Wednesday Social Cancelled this week!!*** –
As we are having our glorious quiz on Thursday we have decided to cancel our social on Wednesday so you all have time to revise your general knowledge!

***Quiz Night*** Thursday 10th March starting at 7:30 The Original Oak. Cost £2p.p
Get revising your Henry VIII’s wives and capital cities for a great night of all things knowledgeable! Start getting your teams together too (5 max. in a team) Proceeds will be going to a children’s charity that Jordan our social sec is running a marathon for in May.

***Mystery Weekend *** Friday 11th-Sunday 13th March
For those who have bought tickets, the bus will be leaving for our magical mystery tour at 5:30 sharp from Cromer Terrace. You will not need sleeping bags or roll mats as beds and bedding are provided.

***THE AGM*** Friday March 18th at 7pm
Our biggest event of the semester where we vote in our new committee. Speeches, voting and Indian buffet followed by the one and only FRUITY!
We'll be having some top nosh at the buffet in 7Spices, followed by some inspirational / emotional speeches from our President and Treasurer, then the new committee will be voted in. 
If you want to run for a committee position, please have a look at Jamie's email with the committee job descriptions on. The nomination sheet is now at the activities desk for all those interested.

SIGN UP for the AGM: From Tuesday 8th March. Tickets will be £10 just for AGM at 7Spices or £14 including a Fruity ticket. Tickets can be bought via this link: www.luu.org.uk/groups/hiking.

Dates for the Diary

***The Easter Trip to Snowdonia*** 11th April to the 17th April
The club will be taking a week-long vacation to North Wales to go one some epic hikes across Snowdonia National Park. We will be staying in the North London Bunkhouse for the week which is lovely and cosy. Then at the weekend we will be moving across to a scout hut in Bethesda. There is the option to stay for the whole week, or just come up for the weekend (15th-17th).
